Asking for what you want then accepting for less than half of what you asked for does not constitute "growing a pair". You can pat yourself on the shoulder for getting a laugh from the interviewers

I was saying you don't need to do what everyone else does . Of course i knew what the pay would be. The box was labeled (at the time) 'desired pay'. I was honest. I'm glad you have a sense of humor, but what everyone needs to do is say what you want when asked. Pm me your name and I'll put a book you should read on your v file.

I think it is the first of the month following 30 days from your hire date.

Example. Start date of March 10. Insurance on May 1.

Chances are you already had a rapport with them when you started cracking jokes.

If your interview is going poorly and they don't dig your style, try cracking jokes and you can find out just how poorly an interview can go.

I wasn't joking. I didn't think that this was so difficult to understand. I answered their question honestly about my application, and they thought it was funny. Do you think that they actually thought I 'desired' to be paid 25k? That would be dishonest to me. If they had asked me what I 'expected' to be paid then I would have answered what I already knew my pay would be. Try being dishonest in an interview and see how poor your interview can go. I guess I see it differently than all of you? Good luck to all that apply...sometimes it's good to stand out.

Well I hope your honesty landed you the job. Anyways I guess I really didn't think to deeply into the wording of the question. Desired pay and expected pay are completely different numbers of course. Anyone expecting to make 60K on first year regional FO pay then of course should deserve a laugh at.
