I'm curious if any will bypass the flow. I'd say about 1 of 4 captains I fly with mention that they aren't interested in flowing to Delta (which I'm calling BS on most of them). I understand maybe if guys have connections with other majors and would get on with them before their flow to Delta.

Yes, held back flows get their seniority# for the class date they were awarded. Flows are awarded a class date and then Compass and Mesaba have the right to hold back and retain that pilot for 3 additional months. So on day 1 when they eventually show up for Indoc they have already accrued 3 months of longevity and will only spend 9 months on 1st year pay.

I've never heard of such a thing, and I would like to add that compass pilots are a very humble bunch. We are mostly refugees from other now dead airlines. Most of us have felt the sting of furlough before. It is hard to boast when you previously were begging for work. Every workforce has some bad apples, but for the most part, I like my crews. If there is any such class started since I've been hired, it is no doubt the product of some HR manager not the reflection of the inapporiate pride of our group.

The effect of paying for your housing and no per diem during initial new hire training.

Yeah, 1 in 4 have no interest in flowing to Delta until a flow letter arrives in their v-file before they have a chance to get hired at another "major".

I would be surprised to see more than 5 out of the first 1/4 who bypass the flow. In the second 1/4 you get into the ATA guys and you may see a higher percentage of bypass out of them than the other demographics.

That does not exist, and is completely absurd. Whoever told you this is feeding you BS - don't eat it, and especially don't feed it to others.
