Sorry guys, one more question. I have my interview next month so getting antsy. Did anyone do interview prep with either Emerald Coast or Aero Crew before their interview? If so, was it helpful? As background, I am transitioning mil, so no 121 experience, and no job interview experience.

I myself have never used a prep like Emerald Coast; however, I have friends that have used it and said the interview was easy after being prepped by them. (This was for majors - not regionals)

My recommendation: if you feel uncomfortable in the civilian aspect of answering questions about yourself and how you'd handle a situation (ie. you run into a friend on the employee shuttle about to start a trip and you smell alcohol and they head off to the terminal - what would you do?) or if you have a issue beating on your own chest about who you are - like most pilots, it's a good prep to be able to vocalize who you are and how to respond to the questions.

I hear it's like $300, but they guarantee successful results...so if you want the job and don't want to second guess or regret that part of the interview and have the $300 to spare - do it...but you still have to get past the technical test before you get to answer those questions.

Compass IMHO is in less of a precarious position than most other regionals. CZ is very cheap (if not the cheapest DCI operator out there) Pilots will be topping out at Year 7-8 pay scale for quite a few more years, and the E170 is a plane that's in demand, so no talk of downsizing/replacing aircraft.

I suppose things could get chaotic if the 3 TSH airlines were to merge lists, that could be the one wild card out there. Haven't heard any rumblings of that happening though.

I don't agree with it, but reality often fails to reflect my ideal vision of the world.

We can play the "no job is secure" game all day. The POTUS' job isn't secure.. That said, I think obviously there are places in the aviation world that are more secure than a regional. I understand why we as pilots might choose to work for a regional - i'm right there with y'all. But my response regarding job security was to a prospective applicant asking about upgrade times. Sometimes people have families depending on the choices they make, and perhaps giving a person a full-dose of "perspective" instead of just the kool-aid might help him better appreciate the risks involved with the decision that he is about to make.

How long is the call-out on Reserve at LAX? Will the long-call that takes effect with the new contract be 2 hours?

Regular call out on reserve is 2 hrs. When the long call provision gets implemented, it would be 12 hrs...but who knows when that's gonna happen.

Perhaps I came off a little harsh. I just meant to drive home the point that nobody can take anything for granted. I've been spunoff once and sold twice, including a job on your list there. Take nothing for granted.

Anyone know the class sizes below?

Feb 13 10?
Feb 27 6 or 10?

Both classes in march...10?

April 10 is 6 or 10?

Rather surprised when I got to class yesterday to see 4 spots and 1 no show. Hopefully this isn't the new direction with the number in each class.
