If they expect that the they realistically can't expect those employees to give them with week's notice when they leave CPZ.

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but is not giving 2 week's no longer a big deal?

I'm absolutely not trying to stir the pot or put anyone down, I'm genuinely asking a question.
I think they were told IF they wanted to they could but if not it would not be held against them to give a 2 week notice.

you are far more patient than I. Compass is where I really want to be but if it's going to be more than a few months I'll probably pursue other opportunities.

Are you in the pool? If so, I would expect a September class date.

If those opportunities involve going to any of the Mega regionals, I would strongly advice waiting it out for Compass. It would be foolish to place yourself at the bottom of a few thousand pilot seniority list vs a 550 pilot seniority list with massive amounts of movement and growth going on.

it's not one of the big ones. It would be me going somewhere to live in base...I'm willing to commute for Compass

Gotcha. Not sure where you live but keep in mind a couple new bases will likely be popping up soon. At least one for sure (new American flying)

Patience, it will be worth it. It cannot be much longer.

In that case, then I would guess mid September is when you would start.

There still might even be a chance for them to run a class in August. To me, it does not make sense at all, to stop classes completely for a month, when you could use that time to take the pressure off having to train 40 pilots a month beginning this september. If they really do plan on doing 40 a month they will have to hire at least 20 more new check airmen and have them trained by mid october(takes a long time for CP to train check airmen, so maybe that is what they are using August for). All that is assuming they have the Sim availability to train 40 a month.

The company has not really communicated anything to us about their hiring or staffing plans. I'm not sure they even know yet. The longer we go, the further past we the 'too-late' point that we will be.
