Hey all. I have interviews with Compass and PSA coming up. On paper, they seem comparable, however, Compass gives me the impression of having higher hiring standards as well as being a more 'professional' place to work. Is this real or imagined?
I currently work for a pretty awful regional and plan to jump ship to a place where I can feel a little more comfortable with the people/company.

I haven't had a Compass interview. How did they compare? PSA offers some things I like even if it isn't of the same caliber as Compass. Then again, I can't even really make that judgement.

But to be fair it seems they have different philosophies screening. In the interview they told us PSA has a 20% fail rate, so it seems they are doing their screening during training. Compass has already screened you so they want you there and will do what they can to keep you there.

Does compass have there own upgrade mins? I have over 1000 PIC 135 time but no 121. Per the FARs I believe I would be legal to upgrade with 1000 hrs PIC 135, but not sure if compass has there own mins.

Yes, there are total time minimums at Compass to upgrade. 2500 TT/1000 ME or 2000 TT/1500 ME. If you seriously can't decide between Compass and PSA you'd probably do better at the latter. Save the jobs for those who really want to be here.

I have a class date towards the end of December. Hopefully I'm still towards the front-ish of the hiring wave. They told us about a year to upgrade, but I wouldn't be surprised if it takes around 2 years to upgrade based on all the posts on here.
What kind of time frame is typical for training? I know the home study is supposedly going to be 14 days, but is it correct that the ground school and sims typically take around 6 weeks?
