This is the October Delta flying. There is no map for American yet since we haven't started it.

So I'm sitting at about 1200TT, while already meeting the xc, night, and instrument requirements for ATP. My 23rd birthday was last Sunday. I'm thinking I'll have the 1500 sometime around Dec/January. The question is, do I have a shot at all in trying for compass when I get the 1500, or are they really only hiring prev 121/135? Also, would my age be a detracting factor as well?

For whatever it's worth, I'm also looking at C5 and Mesa... but I don't want to end up on the backside of Mesa's hiring curve.

1. I was called at 1260, I belive. I was current 135 with 350 sic turbine.

2. For all the compass guys, is there anything I should be doing before class? This is my first 121 experience and I don't want to fall to far behind. Or should I just rest up and have fun before my class.

Before orientation rest up and have fun. During home study? Study everything you can and put in the work. When you return indoc will be review more than teaching. Self discipline is huge in our training. It's not hard but there is a lot less hand holding than most airlines. Ask questions, study and you'll be fine.

Fwiw I had a friend interview recently and the presentation guy said they're avoiding guys without prior 121 right now because they won't have the 121 time to upgrade under the current time frame. He did say this would change once they started hiring guys they didn't expect to be upgrading in ~18 months.

Not saying that the above isn't true, but I was hired a few weeks ago with zero 121 time
