Thanks for the update! Went to recurrent recently and was given the impression that the training dept had their plan laid out, but Trans states was going to implement training at a slower pace.

To keep with the double negatives, I'll say this: I don't not agree with you.

The company really screwed up when they thought the flows wouldn't start until April with the ability to hold back until June. They're already behind in hiring LCAs, upgrading and getting new hires on property.

As it stands right now, 90 day hold backs are the only thing that's keep this thing on the tracks and there is no room left in that leash.

I don't not agree with you either Today I am thankful I am a pilot and not a writer.

Has anyone else been hearing about a new training plan for new hires that are already upgrade eligible? Apparently it involves them getting checked out in the left seat and even doing IOE from the left seat.

What would this accomplish? Basically making them a captain qualified FO at some point like TSA?

Since thye put a stop to dual seat qualification for Captains quite a while ago I doubt it would happen that way.

The way the training was done in the infancy of Compass was the sim was done mostly form the left seat, took the LOE in the left seat, then did a right seat qualification in the sim. IOE was done in the right seat. When you upgraded you did CA OE in the left seat, without going back to sims. I don't know if the FAA would sign off on something like that again. Anyways the bottleneck will most likely occur at IOE, which isn't eliminated under that method anyway.

They mentioned it in new hire orientation a couple weeks ago. They didn't say what the qualifications would be. Not sure if it's upgrade mins as a new-hire or will meet upgrade mins in a year.

Chief T.N. said exactly this a few days ago. Would reduce the upgrade training footprint from a month to 5 days.

Yes, indeed. Also our AQP 12 month cycle will move out to 18 months. The current 12 month event will become 3 days and move to month 18. Just has to be approved, which will happen. Actually aligns our AQP with most other airlines' AQP training cycles.

Been away for awhile finishing up a degree so I apologise if the question was asked, is compass mostly just interviewing previous 135/tpic/121 types for now or are they considering anyone with minimums? I have an unrestricted ME-ATP and just finished a Bachelors. My push for Compass is if they are still looking to staff LAX, it would be an ideal commute. Airapps is kept up to date. Thank you.

I applied with unrestricted ATP mins, previous company safety officer, instructor pilot, CFI/II/MEI... No call to interview or anything. Crickets. I did however receive calls from from pretty much every other regional besides CPZ though.
