Thanks for the response. We live in Long Beach, so I like the sound of 1-2 day trips. This is my second airline, I left for a while and went back to school. First time around I wasn't married, so I didn't care about being gone as much.

I wasn't sure, some threads it seems people will attack you if you asked a generalized question...

Haha, funny thing is married guys I fly with actually LIKE being gone so much :D

Hey guys.. starting in the 2/5 orientation.
Can anyone please update the following:
1) new hire sims? Mostly in STL? or still split with MSP?
2) Time frame from start of ground school till IOE
3) 2 week "home study" Is this an online CBT? do you need internet to complete or can it be done offline? Are these modules you need to pass to move on to the next? Or just memorize a bunch of stuff and we'll test you when you get here type of thing?
Thanks in advance for the responses!

1. you will find out where you are going to do sims on day 3 or 4 after home study....my class was in stl, other classes have been both, it really depends on the schedule.
2. 6-8 weeks most likely
3.its multiple cbts. they need to be done online. you can do them any order you like...almost all have tests that you have to pass and you have 2 shots at each test.

Were told in class, from here on out all the new hire sim training should be in STL, or DFW when they get that up. Only exception is when you do the LOE's at the end of training....all of those are back in MSP.

If any of you are looking for a place to stay while in new-hire training...

Accommodations are a house located in a suburb south of the training center. You get your own room with access to internet, washer/dryer, bath towels, fridge space, etc. Close by to a Target/Walmart. Only thing is you have to provide your own transportation. 25 minute drive from training center. Weekly rate.

Much nicer than staying in a crash-pad or hotel....cheaper too.

PM me and I will get you in touch with the host family.

New-hire training accommodations are paid for by the company through the LOE.

I think you're in the wrong thread. STL is paid full guarantee + perdiem + hotel but that's only ~10 days of the 2 months of training.
