As we go down the list, a bunch will have to bypass causing those hired right now to hold CA late summer/fall and basically street captains to occur for a short period. After pilots catch up with their time, they will be about 35%-45% when upgrading and things should settle out.

After the street captain phase, you are looking at at least 2-3 years to upgrade unless we get a higher than normal attrition.

If you have the time, now is the time to start, otherwise you will miss this opportunity when it hits in the next 3-6 months.

Where are you getting this information? I have heard otherwise. That in fact if you are not currently on property you will have missed the "quick upgrade"
Sooooo...do you have a source?

When you say early start, what time roughly ?

I ask as I will be commuting from OAK/SFO and wondering if I can make it same day or if I need to arrive night before.

Thanks!

Uh- oh, potential commuter jump seat competition!
If SEA is not senior, what about those trips, commutable?

Has Compass actually started LAX service? - but the schedule is already published, right?

Someone that gets hired in May this year would be looking at 3 years to upgrade as opposed to upgrading around when he/she hits the 1000 SIC then?

PSA, same as AA, and they also give you 16 buddy passes per year. The one thing that blows about non-wholly owned is the travel benefits. Not a big deal, but, those 16 buddy passes add up to a considerable amount of $$$ if you use them for your extended family when traveling internationally.

you must hate your extended family ;) I wouldn't give my worst enemy buddy passes to travel anywhere...let alone over seas. Recipe for disaster and ****ed off mother in-laws.

Dude, I apparently don't know sh$t. Care to elaborate? You mean because they'd have to show up to an international flight as standby?

When i got buddy passes in a previous life, the people i gave them to got there and back just fine. Opposed to popular belief, Its not all doom & gloom....

You guys should know by now that AlaskaBound has no idea what he's talking about.

I am so torn between PSA and Compass and which one to go with. Don't care about base, but more about the overall opportunities to advance as well as QOL.

I keep looking at both contracts and it appears Compass has a bit better pay and 7 day vacation starts Year 1 as opposed to Year 2, but apart from that, the contracts appear to be very similar.
