If you go to PSA you will have the best travel benefits out there. If you go to Compass the travel benefits blow by comparison.
It's not hard to non-rev all over the country and internationally with AA mainline flight benefits that you receive at PSA. With the re-banking at all the AA hubs and AA's check in system, it's even easier. The bank system causes more misconnects, which opens up more seats. The check-in system allows even the most junior PSA pilot to potentially get ahead of the most senior AA pilots. Check in right at 24 hours to the exact second before your flight and you're top of the non-rev list. Usually, at least 5-6 non-revs can get on a flight that's full and oversold due to misconnects. Not every flight is full and over sold. But you always have good jumpseat priority if you don't get a seat in the back. I'm always bumping other pilots of the jumpseat due to my wholly-owned status. |
No I am saying anyone who goes to PSA today will never get hired at American within the next 10 years. Go to Compass, get the PIC time, and you at least have a shot at being a street hire. PSA employees can NOT apply off the street.

Eventually the misconnecting passengers have to get where they are going. That mean more over sales on later flights and revenue standby passengers. If there are growing pains, AMR will figure it out to maximize revenue. What happens if you are listed LAX-DFW-CLT. Will your DFW-CLT check in time go from your original -24 hours from LAX-DFW? |
I work at Envoy, traveling on American is as easy it gets. The DFW to CLT leg you would actually have higher priority than you would LAx to DFW due to connection.

For someone living in SAN, and over 3K hours, over 1000 PIC 135 - Skywest or Compass?
|
Compass for sure, a big storm is on the horizon for Skywest. They have the most expensive labor, a fleet that has 75% 50 seaters, all while trying to keep their head above water with Express Jet taking it under. They were the only airline to lose money this last year.

Thanks. Can someone from Compass answer some questions via PM?
