I've been prepping by reading Everything Explained for the Aviation Pilot and The Turbine Pilots Flight Manual as recommended by a few
of you. Looks like the $25 for full access to the site might be worth it.

I'm a CFI with 1400hrs in piston aircraft and am looking for all the options to be best prepared.
Yes, I think it's worth it. The caveat, however, is only look at the questions in the guide. Don't pay attention to answers because there are some that are wrong. Do your own research on questions in any gouge you find.

Can anyone comment how long some of you FO's have been waiting for IOE after completion of training recently?

2-4 weeks was my what the people in my class experienced. Was more than a few months ago now. Idk what is current happening. I imagine much the same or shorter wait.

For those of you who have recently interviewed, within the past month, which book(s) do you think helped prepare for the written test? I spoke to a recruiter last week and he said the entire interview process has completely changed for you guys and now its only a written and basic oral interview. Just trying to figure out which book(s) would be best to read and to avoid. Thanks!

"Turbine Pilots Flight Manual" was a good start.
"Everything Explained for the Professional Pilot"
Those were the two books I used the most and found to be the most beneficial.

Also, looking up some of the "Delta Job Knowledge" gouges can be helpful, just use caution as not every answer is correct on some of those examples, so always verify.

Default Go West..

First Post, but i've read several dozen pages of backstory :-)
I'd be grateful for advice from folks on the line:-
I'm considering a move from NYC to LA, albeit in the medium (6-18mo) timeframe. With the fleet choices & current domiciles, how unpleasant or unworkable would a LGA/JFK commute to a likely base be. Is it a trip that others make?
i'd rater not take a job at an East Coast carrier then try to move laterally, so am willing to take some short term pain.
thanks y'all.. /PL

Here is what my friend said when I showed him your post. He did LAX-JFK commute for a year in 2009.

"It sucks a**!..."

And I didn't do the commute and I would advise against doing it. You'll seriously want to quit and leave aviation after a short time.
