Right now we don't do any DFW flying on the AA side of things. This might change as we progress but I don't see it as LAX-DFW is not going to go to the 175's

if delta is really going to expand boston i hope they use compass. or a NY base would be nice. i think having an east coast base would attract more pilots here

I think the estimation was: flying could bridge to DFW (LAX-AUS/SAT/COS-DFW etc.)
Currently 100% of the AA flying is LAX out-and-backs. I've heard that the Mesa and SkyWest AA domiciles are closing and we will be the only AE operator based in LAX. That doesnt preclude another carrier from operating in LAX for AA, just means it wont be on a large scale. That said, does AA want 100 flights In/Out of LAX every day on the E-175? I dont really think so. I find it more likely that they start moving us through PHX or DFW as the schedule progresses.
Does this mean there will be another base? That'll be interesting to see how it goes. Obviously DFW would be an easier choice because the DL operation supports 5-10 departures a day.
Also, its yet to be seen how the new AA deals with its newly expanded amount of regional flying and carriers. So far, it seems like they are keeping everybody to their own bases - which is opposite from DL who likes to have multiple carriers in each base.

I misspoke. Delta. Not AA. Oops

Again I think the DFW base chance ended when we stopped doing DFW-LGA

Yep. Pulled into the Eagles Nest today and had another Compass AE175 behind us get sent down to C1 remote parking. They offloaded via stairs and bused the passengers back.

Interesting...I wonder what the long term plan is for that. Those poor passengers had to take TWO buses to get to terminal 4! Lol

That was probably me. According to our gate agent, it happens every Saturday. Too many planes finish their days early, and the nest runs out of room fast. Despite the poor gate planning, I'm very impressed at how well AA Ops handled the super remote parking. There was absolutely no delay in getting the pax off the plane, onto the bus, and to the terminal.

i feel like the nest needs to be a controlled movement area, not by ground but by ramp like the rest of the alleys....there is a lot of congestion over in the nest.

I was impressed/disappointed at the number of cold/dark aircraft parked at the Nest without jetbridges attached while we waited for a broken SKW aircraft to be towed off a gate.

And this was only at 2pm.......
