More likely, this is a play by Delta to increase the pressure on Alaska and United on the west coast. Not due to "poor performance".

Here's what we're hearing. We're doing the West Coast 175 stuff due to poor performance.

You ever been to Boston?
Haha, funny. Check the perf numbers on mainline. Its not just CP. its everyone in LAX. Think you can do better? Have at it...Not sure if the alley for Terminal 5 is big enough for your ego though....

Plus, the LAX-SFO shuttle going 100% mainline in the new year has nothing to do with performance. Just need jets with more seats.

thats good. but still, its a little disconcerting that skywest was just awarded what, their 3rd or 4th straight cpa for additional flying? and meanwhile mesa and gojet securing more 76 seat flying while cpz is busy securing atp tuition reimbursement??

Skywest didn't really 'win' any flying, they bought those 175's. As far as the additional United stuff...well, I don't know if CPZ even bid for United flying.

I do think something is in the works though. I know it's nearly impossible for pilots, but...we are just gonna have to wait and see what's going on.

Most of the mainline total outsourced regoinal jet counts are maxed out. Delta is actually shrinking to their new required total regional jet count. Any new CPA you see is just replacing feed elsewhere. Whether it be other planes Skywest will park from their own fleet, or from another regional's fleet. The Compass AA birds basically replaced the Envoy feed and the 6 additional DCI planes from earlier were replacing 50-seat jets getting parked.

It doesn't really matter if Skywest bought them, or if United/Delta did. Skywest will still rely on United and Delta to sell tickets so they can afford the payments on the planes.

The first part of your statement explains why the second was deemed necessary.
