Compass and AA

Let's get this straight. This is not envoys routes, this is American routes. It is petty to blame a pilot group for something they have no control of. None. So please go somewhere else and take your pity party with you.

But you think that will ever happen when there's PSA, Mesa and Compass willing to do it for less?

So offering preferential hiring to ALPA brethren from the airline who is getting screwed is a dick move?
As pilots, we can only control the negotiation of our own contract. We've just done that, and recently signed a contract laden with gains (to a already decent contract).
What management does, in terms of bidding on new flying , is out of our control.
A preferential hiring agreement between the Company and ALPA is something we can control.
We're doing what we can to help the Envoy guys. Unfortunately, we don't control very much.

2. The pilots of Compass had nothing to do with the addition of these aircraft, other than running a safe operation and doing our part to get what flights we do operate completed and in/out on time. We took no pay cut---quite the contrary.
Most all of us have been furloughed from other airlines, some of them terrific airlines that you could make a career out of. We've been where the Envoy guys/gals are right now, at airlines that seem to be shrinking with very uncertain futures. All of us want to get our time and get out. Growth at regional airlines like Compass, Skywest, Republic, etc. does NOT help our mainline futures AT ALL.
If any comments from fellow CPZ pilots comes across as chest-thumping, I apologize. They are either 1500hr CFIs who don't "get it" or just giant tools. And yes, we have our 3% just like everyone else.
Good luck to ALL of us.....

There are some seriously disgruntled pilots from the SKW and Envoy side of things today. Understandably. But seriously, this is the reality now so Envoy guys can stay there they're at, wait til a major picks them but, leave the industry all together, or come over to Compass. Why would anyone get upset about saying some of the Envoy guys should come over to Compass? What would be a slap in the face is if someone tried to convince you to stay at Envoy. Get the heck out of there and improve your quality of life. Compass is an airline filled with refugees. Come over and move up the seniority list faster than any other regional out there. I made the lateral move a year ago over to Compass and it's been the best thing that's happened to me in this industry.

1. A majority of the Compass pilots do not want this flying. It's not that we're ungrateful, it's that we're already maxed out as it is. That, and most all of us realize what sacrifice the Envoy guys/gals made for the rest of the regional industry.

Of where the rest of the aircraft will go, my guess is Piedmont. They will replace the Dashes with the new jets. With replacements, no worries about having to hire additional pilots from the shrinking candidate pool.
