My experience with the union volunteers has always been good!
Keep in mind they are volunteering, and you could volunteer as well. They have a lot of work cut out for them. I’ve heard there is work going on that legally can not be discussed outside of mediation.. so no they can’t send us an email with a big update on it.

Yeahhhhh....I know who is in charge of such agreements at a certain major southern airline. And I quote “there will never be another flow with any regional as long as I’m here”. Things didn’t go well with the first flow and it won’t happen again under current management. So that’s completely BS. Anytime I hear something about flow from any regional, not just us, I chuckle.

Are they really 100% reactive and not in the slightest bit proactive? Or is this zero reserve just a fluke example?

This is the new situation normal. It's no way to run an airline for sure.

I think they are just really cheap. Tried to save a buck a year ago, tried to save a buck last summer. Started hiring too late, started raising pay too late...

I know when they started the right seat qualified captain thing they said it was going to be totally voluntary and no captain would be forced to fly in the right seat. With the way things have been going and how short the right seat it right now how long do you think it will be till they double-back on that and start calling reserve captains to fill right seats? As a soon to be reserve captain is there a place in the contract or a LOA that I could point to, to legally refuse a right seat assignment?
