Quote: Compass's website is claiming less than 2 months of reserve is that true ? How long to hold a line in each ?
As mentioned above it is constantly fluctuating. For December we have seen an increase of about 20 lines which is back to what we normally see and this should bring reserve times back down to that 2-3 month level.

where do you see we have an increase in 20 lines for Dec?

what I see is in Nov we had 185 FO bidders and in Dec we have 202. So 17 more bodies, plus there will be more added to reserve when some people finish IOE.

I don't see reserve getting back to 2-3 months yet. Dec will be month 3 for me and I only moved up about 10 numbers and still not close to getting a line.

at least on the Captain side, in November the Targeted Line holders were in the 140-145 range IIRC. Now for December its about 20 more with 167 targeted line holders.
What base are we talking here??

On the PBS website it says targeted line holders. SEA-CA is the same as Nov.

They're talking about LAX which would be the quickest base to get off reserve.

Thanks, i see it now. I was looking in bid package.

For guys starting out, I would plan on 3-4 months of reserve in LAX.
For Dec there will be about 40 reserve FOs and there are about 50 in some level of new hire training. So as they finish IOE they add to the pile. Unless they add more block hrs in Jan or there is a lot more attrition then there has been, I see the movement about the same as it has been for the last few months, slow.

Also, with the high number of reserves, we are not getting a lot of flying. Several people I know are going on their 4th month from IOE and don't have their 100hrs yet.

It's slow at the moment but that's winter flying. Add in the heavy checks and unforeseen Mx issues the lines are down. Hopefully attrition will stay high but come April to the summer months the lines will grow significantly for summer flying.
So... word from the school house is that our AA birds are getting ETOPS rated...? Obviously rumors are rumors till something happens, just curious if anyone else has heard this going through training recently.
