A system wide email was sent the other day about how we should start printing in black and white instead of color, to save money. Before that RL wrote that memo about how we've been bleeding money yet AA and DL are paying us the same. Maybe the company couldn't survive another $2+ million bill.

Oh this is great! The hits keep coming. Why we need this I really don't understand.
We have an updated FOM..... this language was added for CA that are high Mins....
G. A High Minimums PIC will conduct all takeoffs and landings
during his/her first 100 hours of line operations as PIC. The
SIC may serve as Pilot Flying during enroute portions of the
flight, but a positive transfer of controls must be coordinated
per FOM 6-13.2 after takeoff and/or before landing. [Compass
Limitation]

Based on the last 3 pages, it seems as if most people were concerned about the safety of the pax having had evacuated through the slides in a non-emergency situation and the injuries it could have caused for no reason. I am not sure if most people knew that the pax were not evacuated through the slide.
We probably only have 30% of the story, and we're all just speculating the rest of the details. I feel horrible for the CA that was put in this situation, it's ****ty and the company should never have put him on a 60 second pressure cooker.

To stop and think and revert back to ones training . A dispatcher and a duty manager are not pilots. They do not go through the training that we go through.
It should not be that easy to get bad info and then execute and cause damage let alone the PR issue.
I hope we don't want to put this at the foot of a dispatcher who is not compensated to the level of our captains.
What always made this airline run was the proficiency and ADM of our captains. Their experience and knowledge kept us at number 1 fora lot of our history.
I hope we can make that trip again.

LOL! This must be a joke ? What's the point of taking the controls during the enroute portions? If you can't take off or land why bother fly ? What happens when those FOs that are super senior that are prolly way more comfortable in their seat than a new captain in his seat. Good box and radio communications practice I guess

Hopefully TSH goes bankrupt so everyone on this thread can harden up. Pretty sure Great Lakes has FOM language like this one added. It doesn't have to be explained to the pilot group before it shows up. LINE PILOT! Ok? Remember that.
Everyone stop quarterbacking this guy and just be thankful you weren't put in this position. Hopefully at the end of the day this guy just got a free chance to blow a slide and learn who his enemies are.

That language comes from TSA. They had that, looks like they finally implemented it at CPZ.
