Or email the union. All I can discern is what it says on the MX dashboard for 211NN. Frankly some of the speculation is ridiculous. Ask questions before you jump to the conclusion the company is trying to screw us all.

Exactly. I think I'd much rather explain why I got fired for refusing the orders to blow slides for DOT 3 than the opposite. "I was only following orders" - that's what they said at the Nuremberg trials...

Though of course the disclaimer applies - we don't know what exactly happened. Maybe they told the pax "we're just opening a door with a slide to force the airport's hand and get us the airstairs and a bus, please remain seated unless you want to risk your legs"

A great idea. Atlantic and Signature next to The Strip definitely have airstairs. How do you think the casino airplanes get boarded? Or Janet for that matter.

I heard that 211NN is going to Envoy. Can't afford to repack slide.

you would think by now there would be some communication from the CPO, like with a lot of things lately just radio silence.

There never really has been much communication. Just the one email every few months from JS.

Remember the email about, "Due to aircraft damage on the American side..." nothing. Talk about a very vague email and then to hear nothing else about it. They say they are transparent and have an open door policy. Yeah, right.

If the company wants to blow a slide, the only time this becomes an issue for me personally is when the company asks you to also evacuate the passengers via the slide. That is when it becomes a safety issue. Blowing a slide is NOT a safety issue. We have accidentally blown slides multiple times in tighter spaces and nothing has happened.

The passengers were evacuated via airstairs from the AFT. Nobody had to evacuate via the slide. It sucks that the Captain was put into this situation in the first place, I think most people would not have blown the slide. But, that's what happened, and it is what it is.

I am pretty surprised that you guys would think the only option of exiting the aircraft when there is no real emergency is through a slide. The safety of the passengers were never at risk - but the future of Compass most likely was if they would have had to shell out another $2+ millions. Tough call in my opinion.
