not looking for anything
just trying to help my fellow pilots who are below me and the ones considering coming to CP, just like others did for me.
pilots considering coming to CP should have current info on what they can expect so they can make an informed decision.

Exactly! For example, had I read this before I came here, I wouldn't have come here. But at the time it was sit 1 month and have any base, this is very helpful information for prospective pilots.

this past month and Dec most of us got a lot more with the holidays and bad WX days in LA.
I have not had a reserve stretch where I didn't get at least one turn.
you will most likely get some ready reserve
it has been 50/50 for me if they use me on ready

you should have no problem getting 35 hrs every month.

Cool thanks! Can I pretty much count on only ever having the min 11 / 12 days off every RSV month??

your reserve schedule will always be built with 11 or 12 days off.
however, if you live in base you will have days that they will not use you and you just have to be available for 2 hr call out if they do.
for example, when I start a 5 or 6 day stretch of reserve days, many times they will not use me on the first day. A 5 day trip would have to be in open time or someone call in sick for them to assign me the 5 day trip, and i would have to be the lowest in the 5 day silo. Has happened to me once, but that time I was the only one in the 5 day silo. They could use you for a shorter trip, but they have to go in order of the lowest silo first, so to get to the 5 day silo they would have to be very short on reserves that day or it is a crazy day and they have used everyone.
This was all very easy to see in FLICA on the reserve availability page.
not sure how it is going to be in the new software.
If you commute, plan on being in base on all your reserve days.
there have been pilots that tried to stay home because they had a short commute flight and thought they could figure when it was safe to stay home and then they were called and missed a flight assignment

How do you look at a trip in open time or people trying to drop/swap? I click on em and nothing, I want to see the whole trip with individual legs, got me plum flummoxed.

Or you can also click on the section that shows the trip number and date, when you do this you will notice that on the right side at the top it will now say "details" followed by the trip number and date. You can expand this by clicking on the little triangle next to the word "details" this will give you a complete overlook of the trip.
