Unfortunately more bad news. MSP will be closing by December with no plans to open a new crew base. DL wants our flying more concentrated out west, so they say

I thought for sure we would lose Seattle before we lost MSP. There goes the seniority list for a lot of people on all sides pilots and flight attendants. Wow this place is changing so fast!!

MSP base closing with no plans for opening another base ? No Bueno.
Someone told me the other day that with the terminal switch we will get about 6 more gates so things should be less congested and I told them that means we will just do more flying in LAX and it'll be the same. With this news now I don't know if this means we are gonna lose more flying or we are really just shifting the flying.
I believe a lot A lot of employees will move on now. A lot of the MSP Pilots and FAs say the prefer to retire/leave than to commute across the country even if it's to a LCC and few of the older FAs say they'll retire if MSP closes. I believe this will cause attrition to be even higher.

I don't buy the "westward expansion" nonsense. I think it's more likely that we can't afford the rent in Building C anymore.
Joking aside, if the MSP base can't have been considered a given at this place, I no longer know what can. Not a good sign.
Also, this of course means that they will have to replace basically everyone that works in Building C by the end of the year because I certainly hope nobody in headquarters would be stupid enough to move for this company that is only going to continue circling the drain. That means a brand new crop of schedulers and dispatchers, when even the ones that have been around a little while barely know what's going on! There is no silver lining to this.
