It could just mean a new base for us when the C series comes in. We have always gone were they wanted us to go. Keep in mind the time it will take to deliver all those planes. Its still years away. Plus all the teething issues that are bound to happen. But yeah, its fair to say that LAX may not be in the long term plans for Delta and Compass.

Of course, Ed's statement was general. But I don't care so much about the future of SkyWest

It's definitely true that the process will take a while. But Ed is also on record as saying that he sees the regional model going away altogether. Now it sounds like LAX is going to be where it all begins, and of all the Delta regionals Compass has by far the greatest exposure there. So the long term indeed looks cloudy at best (pun intended).

But as we all know, this business can change overnight. All we can do is fly a lot, do a good job, and get out. The flip side of all of this is more mainline flying at LAX. I'm all for that!

They (SkyWest) still fly for UA and AA out of LAX and Alaska out of SEA. Their future is longer term than Compass. As someone said, Compass moves wherever we are told to go.

The good thing, as you said though is more flying returning to mainline, as it should be. In my mind the 175 should be on mainline property, but that's just my opinion.

Are we really crushing Skypest as the CP operational update claims?

So it includes a pdf of performance from yesterday. Sure there is some YTD data, but has anyone else noticed that when we are not putting out good numbers the CP operational updates do not include D0 A14 etc. We also have not been getting performance numbers sent to our iPad.

Maybe I am mistaken, but to me doing better than SkyWest for one or two days is like the confederacy saying look we won a battle. I believe there is a saying, winning the battle but losing the war. YTD we are number 6 in Completion Factor from how I read it. Three 100% tied for first, 99.97, 99.94, and CP at 99.89 below our goal of 99.95%.

Hopefully the trend continues with better performance. Claiming we are the best after a few good days isn't going to put us on top. It's great that performance is improving. The way to handle it would be saying look we are doing much better, we even beat out SkyWest this weekend. Keep up the good work so we can be on top.

At this point I'm sure management is trying to give us anything that will boost morale just for a few moments.

Dumb question on the new 12-month training schedule:
On day two and three the spreadsheet has a "brief" time and an "LOE" time. Is that like a stop and end time? I have a hard time believing we'll be briefing for six hours each day prior to starting the MV, or LOE.

It's exactly like the other MVs and LOEs you've done. The only difference with 12 month is they moved the day of class from 9 month. Most instructors will contact you with a new start time, if not show up when you're scheduled to and expect to be there for "6" hours before you go back to the hotel/home. The brief for the MV is a little longer because of the knowledge validation (maybe an hour from show to sim).
