Buffers change on a daily basis? So that means I can't drop a trip two weeks from now because scheduling doesn't know what the buffer will be until that day arrives? Does anyone else see a problem with this?

No not at all, makes perfect sense . I loved how when the guy asked about being able to drop/swap via IOCC they told him "you are able to do it automatically, if the buffer is high enough" well I donno about you guys but I have yet to be able to do it via IOCC.

Absolutely see a problem with this and see it only getting worse now that we have a staffing issue. Pretty much at any time all trip trades and drops can be denied for "buffer" levels.

According to their logic the only time you can drop is the day of your trip since that's the only time they can pin down the buffer.

You get communication twice a month. Soon the mec will have an app for your phone. Its will have tons of info on it. The different chairmen will publish things as they come up. It will have hotel info like the flica app had. It will have a forum of sorts where we can discuss these same issues wirhout mangement having access. Or the ridiculous endless back and forth vomit that goes on with pilots from other airlines. I hope you use it.

Couple of points. On a personal level as a three year Captain, I am THRILLED that I will be babysitting new hire F/O's who can't fly their way out of a wet paper bag that will be literally earning 80% of what I do. Secondly, FORGET ABOUT ANY FLOW TO HA, SWA OR ANYWHERE ELSE for that matter. HA just announced a new application window and stated that after the last one closed they had received a bit over 1000 apps, interviewed around 220 and hired 108. A whopping 10% of those who applied. As far as SWA as anyone who tried to register for their latest job fair can attest, they are in no way, shape or form hurting for applicants. If it does happen, well, I will remove that hat on my head as I will no longer need it and eat it.

Just try and focus on getting out and don't waste energy on the trolls. There will always be 5% of every company that has cringeworthy people posting nonsense.
Please release his info. I'm friends with upper DL management. I don't mind forwarding it along.

In all seriousness, did an FA really ask for a bonus? I almost choked.
