there is a palpable increase in the airports for me over the past few days. They almost seemed “normal”.

And.... Saturday was 29.9% of previous year's numbers, and Sunday was 29.7% of previous days numbers. Almost over that 30% mark.

The numbers for this weekend were a nice sign, small but noticeable upward tick, I just hope it can continue and be steady once again.

New chart.
Based on shapes of the curve things should be better in coming days.

I think it’s still very uneven across the country though. NYC-area airports still look like ghost towns.

8-2: 29.8% (29.7497, I am going to round it to 29.8% for good measure)

8-1: 29.9%

7-31: 28.1%

almost touched the 30% level which remains elusive.

Theories/Observations:

1. Apparently the hurricane does not impact the number, OR it DOES, and the above captures some folks fleeing from Hurricane/Tropical Storm Isaias.
2. Last minute "lets get the summer trip in" stuff prior to return to school
3. Travel is coming back finally and this is the start of something new.

Fingers crossed for the week...

very true and I haven’t been through NYC in a while. I should qualify that on my trips I’ve seen a palpable difference. That doesn’t imply it’s universally similar. My loads have not been below 75% for a couple weeks now. I was full 4-4 legs the last couple days.

It’s not much, but I’ll take any good news I can.

8/1 marked another increase in schedules for most carriers. I know Delta said not to expect more flight increases through the end of the year. What about other carriers?

I have a feeling we have reached peak until states start reducing travel restrictions.

No kidding. Without KCM we’d have broken 800K.
