I’ve been leaning towards optimism in terms of our industry’s recovery, but I think I’m coming to the realistic conclusion that we have a very long, long way to go. I don’t see these numbers coming up significantly for quite some time. The vaccine rollout seems clumsy at best. I’m not even sure how many people will actually take it. And then we have 50 state governments doing their own thing, not to mention all the international restrictions. Now I’m starting to see this taking years. I really, really hope I’m wrong.

I think the very idea of using clinical tests for screening is ludicrous and shows that hysteria has overtaken science.

This ignorance is more consistent with 18th century France:

or the cargo cults of the South Pacific post WWII..
I’m not sure which would offend me more, if the people mandating this KNOW it can’t work and are simply lying to us, or if they are actually ignorant enough to believe it WILL work.
Either way, their credibility is striving daily for new lows.

Last 2 days were in the 500's so not what we like to see, hopefully this starts turning around as Delta is predicting to be profitable this summer with vaccine roll out.
From Delta earnings report today:
sauce: https://www.cnbc.com/2021/01/13/delt...s-q4-2020.html
Delta halved its cash burn in the fourth quarter and expects to be profitable this summer.
“While our challenges continue in 2021, I am optimistic this will be a year of recovery and a turning point that results in an even stronger Delta returning to revenue growth, profitability and free cash generation,” Bastian said.
“The early part of the year will be characterized by choppy demand recovery and a booking curve that remains compressed, followed by an inflection point, and finally a sustained demand recovery as customer confidence gains momentum, vaccinations become widespread and offices re-open,” Delta President Glen Hauenstein said in the earnings release.

I like to look at the market, news, etc from a long lense. I noticed yesterday CNN didn't have 1 headline about covid all day. They have now made a little tab that you can go to. I'm not predicting anything. I'm stating. The MSM has now started to talk about it less. The fear will fade with lack of coverage. Most importantly, the political side that is driing the lock downs etc, will start saying we need to open up. Notice what Cuomo said about NYC yesterday. One other indicator is the Delta CEO stating that they expect a positive cash flow by the spring. He's seen the sales numbers for the spring. The recovery could be quicker than you think if nobody is reporting about all humans dropping dead spontaneously.
