What kind of masks are some of you wearing that you can’t hear people talking? Quit making up excuses and wear a damn mask like you wear a tie and epaulets as your employer who signs your paycheck ask you to do.
It’s not that hard and it’s not against any constitutional right. If you think that it is, then show up to work naked next tomorrow and see how far you get.

As soon as the cockpit door was closed I would take my tie off also.
i would do this the next tomorrow for the entire three or four day trip.
It’s guys like you that make coming to work a real downer.

If I was flying with you I would insist that you wear your damn mask the ENTIRE flight- just because you sound like a tool- and just in case being a tool is contagious.

It is already a requirement at my regional. What's so feaking hard about wearing it with the door open that you gotta close the door? At any rate, I'm a firm no to wearing it during flight operations. It impedes communication.

I got caught up in what I was doing and forgot to take mine off during preflight before the first leg of a trip last week. It is definitely a CRM issue as I found that my FO couldn't hear me with the mask on. If we were both wearing them during the preflight briefing then we would have been yelling at each other nonstop, or maybe I'm just hard of hearing.
On a side note, I went to the tire department at Costco a few days ago and just straight up could not understand the girl standing behind the plexiglass talking thru her mask. Pretty sure she couldn't hear me either and I ended up going somewhere else to buy tires. I understand the need for safety but if I cannot easily conduct a business transaction then I'm out.

Some of you shouldn’t have a first class medical if you can’t hear someone speaking through a mask.
I wonder how surgeons have completed 10 hour surgeries while everyone in the room is wearing a mask and a face shield for decades?

Hand signals, there are over 42 different medical hand signals. The most familiar, of course, is the snap of the rubber glove during your physical.
