Both sides play their negotiating games. I’m sure Nancy read the Trump tweets on how he will unilaterally fund the airline aid himself, she knows he can’t, so now she is holding that hostage against what she wants.
What chapter in the Art of the Deal do they discuss letting your opponent know what you want the most, so they can leverage it against you?

the Donald genuinely wants to help us. He had been saying that since the beginning of this. The dems also want to help since we are all union. From what I can see, the issue is the dems want to sneak pork in and some gop senators don’t want to keep bailing us out, we are the only Fortune 500 companies who have gotten free money so far.

The ones who like business, want the economy back.
The ones who like taxes are slowly coming to the realization that there's not going to anything to tax if the economy doesn't turn around.
There are also some who just want the airlines to go away for good.

They may not care about workers, but they do care about a key economic enabler.

Not sure why you think that the airlines are being held hostage by politicians. DC isn't telling people not to buy tickets. Demand is low because business travel has come to a grinding halt. The airlines were already given $25b to get thru 6 months. Unemployment fell from 14.7% to 7.9%, but people still aren't flying, even with mask requirements and airlines blocking middle seats. What happens if another $25b comes through and 6 mos from now, business travel is still flat? $25b more?
