Get your second shot. Wait a few weeks, and then go walk through a Covid ward. You should be fine, right?

Simple fact is, the data set to detect post-vaccination trends still isn’t large enough or long enough.

This is an excellent video that summarizes the history of MRNA, the vaccine, how it works, etc. I was going to get the vaccine anyway, but this video helped to squash any doubts that I had. Hope it helps.

Currently flying EMS so we were included in the first group to be vaccinated. Not all folks got it but i'd say 80% did. From the talk around the hangar, mostly sore arms on the first dose and some people had flu like symptoms the next day. Second dose caused more people to have flu like symptoms but nothing longer than 24 hrs.
My Daughter is a Microbiology/Virology major and they've been studying everything about this. The scientific consensus is that MRNA vaccines are safe.

Key takeaways....
1. The mRNA active ingredient is very narrowly targeted. It is manufactured, not grown biologically or packaged in a zombie virus, so you're not getting any extra biological stuff with your vaccine.
2. There has been enough lab work and real-world experience with antibodies in humans to apparently rule out ADE for COVID-19. That's good.

See, that's what a lot of you might be missing - this vaccine was not approved under the normal approval process. This is a vaccine approved under an emergency use authorization - essentially a process for the FDA Commissioner to allow unapproved medical products or unapproved uses of approved medical products in an emergency to diagnose, treat, or prevent serious or life-threatening diseases or conditions caused by CBRN threat agents when there are no adequate, approved, and available alternatives.
This means that under the assumption that COVID-19 represents a grave threat to health, this vaccine is worth the gamble. The reality is that this is an unapproved vaccine rushed to market to treat an overhyped, sensationalized virus that likely poses no more significant health threat to the under 60 crowd then the flu.
This is why they might be having a hard time convincing the medical community themselves, the ones that should be the easiest to convince, to take the vaccine.

I have absolute faith in vaccines. I have no doubt that an MRNA vaccine that has gone through the vaccine approval process will be and is safe. My wife and I and my kids are all up-to-date in our vaccinations - at least, the vaccinations that have gone through the full approval process.

If you are saying that the vaccine has been thoroughly approved and gone through the normal process, then why is it only approved under an Emergency Use Authorization? Is it just that all that paperwork takes so long?
