Rolled my eyes and quit reading right there. Because they didn't write "Type I" diabetes, we're talking about a 44 year old fatty with Type II.
You'd better believe Merck or their ilk wants to sell her another pill rather than tell her to put the doughnuts down if she wants to live. Because apparently that's impossible, even when staring at a hangman's noose.
She's a nurse, for Jebus sake. She knows (presumably) because SCIENCE tells her daily choices have consequences.
