Glad to see we’re at 99%, also glad that those in the 1% without a real medical or religious exemption are about to find out that decisions have consequences! Buh-bye sorry not sorry!
Technically we’re at 99% of the total company, not just the pilots. From what I remember from the latest union email, there were just a few pilots that aren’t vaccinated. They could quit tomorrow and the machine wouldn’t skip a beat.

Any reasonable accommodation must not cost the company more money to implement nor can it violate the rights of the other unionized employees within a work group.
I get all that; and overwhelmingly I think where conflicts arise, the burden should fall on the ineligible pilot & not the company. Considering the small number of pilots who fall into this category, though, I think it could be done with relatively little disruption. If not, I could see going so far as restricting said pilots to the Airbus- where the route network has minimal chance for conflict. And yes, some of that could require union consensus.

Understand, I think anyone still holding out is grossly miscalculating the risk/benefit balance of this vaccine- but I do hate to see anyone lose their career over it.

These pilots have had several opportunities to bid the 320... I am adamantly opposed to any accommodation that violates/abrogates pilot seniority. Anything like that should be negotiated as a LOA and be subject to member ratification.

God help us if we ever have to do a real strike again. I can hear it now; “ A picket line? But that violates my geographical autonomy!!”

Again? That's funny. Last strike was almost 40 years ago. We've had our balls handed to us for the last 2 years and haven't done a thing to stand up against any of it. Our group is a bunch of gutless, broke, no savings account having, pussies. Most can't pay their bills if they missed one paycheck. They'll never be another strike. We're past amendable by 2 years. Wanna bet a soda we don't have a contract in the next year?

That's reasonable too. Fed needs to collect the data on natural immunity, quantify it, and implement an appropriate passport. Natural immunity is becoming a significant factor (but naturally the bureaucrats will need the data to CYA).

HA! When faced with losing their job, they'll be lining up for the stick.... amazing how that works. All the "give me liberty or give me death" arguments will topple like a Florida condo. LOL

Per the latest ALPA update, looks like we're down to the single digits on the anti-vaxxer holdouts. Can't wait for American and SWA to announce their vaccine mandates to comply with the "federal contractor" Biden mandate. This is gonna be fun to watch.

We also have about 300 out on exemptions.

I do find it interesting that many of those seeking religious exemptions argued what they believe to be faulty science regarding the vaccine while at the same time claiming that it violates their belief in a narrative devoid of scientific evidence.

Exclamation

Abortion is not an appropriate topic for APC (politics + religion).
