Was going to travel to Israel next spring. Fully vaxed and had the virus back in Jan. Israel now says fully vaccinated must have occurred within the previous 180 days from the end of your visit. So, vax status there has an expiration date and you have to get boosted.

Still don’t understand why my natural immunity counts for nothing.

Why? Their country, their rules. Pretty simple

Israel does recognize “recovery from COVID” as a form of immunity. There is a time limit on that too though. The problem for Americans is that there is no centralized form showing that you had COVID so there is no document Israel accepts from the US as proof you actually had it.

Actually you can in aviation. Only difference is that the FAA sets the rules... get too old or too fat and they'll pull your medical. The courts have mostly taken medical fitness to fly out of the hands of the employers and left it solely in the FAA realm.

I don't want to feel bad when somebody dies of something that is benign to 99.9% of healthy people. Especially since they refuse to lose weight.
We kind of do that already, if you neglect your health badly enough the FAA will cancel you. The only question is a matter of degree... how fat is too fat?

The FAA actually tried to presumptively diagnosis all heavy-ish pilots with OSA a few years ago... that would have grounded a lot of people, but IIRC congress intervened and put a stop to it.

They have the advantage of a very centralized health care system... which has proved to be useful for covid.

What threat is an unvaccinated jumpseater when we deadhead shoulder to shoulder with 170 others with unknown vaccine status?

Why worry about the jumpseater and then go sit in a crowed restaurant, church, or other public event with a bunch of unmasked strangers?

And finally, what are the odds of the TSA extending the mask mandate until everyone gets the booster? My guess is that we’re still wearing them a year from now.
greatly reduces the risk? So I go from 99.98% to what 99.989%? And that is worth the harm to the economy and my job? Seriously people it's all about not letting a crisis go to waste and giving politicians as much money as possible by passing covid budgets that give millions to gender studies in Afghanistan etc. All politicians care about is money and staying a politician to get more money. Nothing else. Not safety or health of the US. Money!
