Yeah the older design was better IMO. I'm over these stupid Madison Avenue focus group generated oversized logos that don't fit on the tail etc. The old design would still need to be refreshed though. The colors were chalky and washed out and the soft matte black snoopy nose was just fugly. Old design, modern/vibrant colors would work great. And red and blue wings/hat bling.

What you don't want is intermixed panels from different paint jobs while the livery conversion is in progress. The visual horror of a "clown nosed" airplane approaching the chocks is beyond words.

Completely trivial but AA has some of their 738s and 320s painted in the colors of airlines they have acquired/merged with... but still painted American behind 1L and 1R... "Heritage livery" - I think it's pretty cool especially to see some of the older liveries and probably pretty neat for the employees of those previous airlines now wearing an American uniform...

They also have a 757 and a 738 painted in old American style...

Delta could do this... I think at least one 717 should be painted like an old DC-9...

>>great time to renegotiate pricing as well....<<
I think that's what's really going on here. Listen to Ed (closely) on the call. Order coming up and it's in his/our interest to paint as bleak a picture as possible of the aircraft market.

I agree with this. I'm not saying the 350 order won't get reduced but what could happen is it's reduced and 321 neos are ordered and then 15 787 come back in. Because we love fleet types
