Can anyone confirm they added 10 more 737-900's so 130 instead of 120? Someone mentioned it was somewhere in the press release but I couldn't find it

Yes it is in the 10Q

It says BOEING exercised a PUT Option. I only have a vague idea what that is, but reading the 10Q, it almost appears as if Delta is being required to take them from Boeing. Maybe someone can clear this up for me?
There is also a good chart of existing and ordered aircraft in the report.

The link was blocked for being a potential malware site, but the premise is interesting. I've always assumed the only options were CALL options owned by the airlines. It never occurred to me the manufacturer would have PUT options. Maybe the Boeing order book for 737 isnt' as strong as they would like us to believe.

try this one

Boeing exercised their put option and sold Delta 10 shiny new 737-900er aircraft. The modification of the order when Delta agreed to half the 737 they originally ordered and cancelled in 2015. Delta gave Boeing a put option on 10 additional 737s. (The ones we weren't going to get because of the 2015 TA 1 vote down)

I was curious about that as part of the original 40.

Guessing nobody really wants the NGs, they want the max. I bet some had orders for 900 but opted for Max instead.

They are replacement aircraft to cover the accelerated retirements on the MD88's.
