...or to just buy the whole airline.

HAL has B717s, B767s (shrinking fleet), A330s, A321s (deliveries soon), A350s (deliveries soon).

DAL has purple FA and gate agent uniforms.

Should be a natural fit.
What do you mean by "soon"? They don't have any replacements on order. Naturally, one would think the best replacement would be the E190 or the CS110 but how long is the wait on those? They could order some A319NEOs but that would be a 20-30% seat capacity increase.

They have a little over 600 pilots. Nobody would notice.

Heard they thought about HA a while ago, but they have a staggering amount of debt for their size. It would be a major over payment for what it would bring. A couple HND slots and everything else could be done on our own anyway, at way less cost.

IMHO Delta is smart to do this. Preparing for the eventual downturn in global travel when the US economy tanks. It's due another cycle. Focus on the real revenue generator, which is the domestic market.

We went through this a few years ago and maybe this time delta buys Hawaiian or its all a waste. That said... does Hawaiian have an IT department? Or IT? Or kids that know how to play on computers?

Maybe even a 400 lb hacker?

Yup, that's pretty hard to decipher.

When the US economy tanks domestic flying will tank also. If management was prepping for this they would reduce not increase domestic.
