I'm betting 30% of the narrow body CA positions go to people hired since 2014. Everyone senior to that has a % bid in for the left seat. Just can't see the 20 year 765B who flies 200 hours a year and gets paid to stay home all winter jumping at the chance to be 717A. Thoughts?

Money has a funny way of making people do stupid things. An empty or soon-to-be empty nest can do the same thing. I don't have the tables handy, but the pay jump 717A or 73NA probably isn't insignificant.

Do you think there will be a lot of JR A's on this bid? I was more wondering how many junior widebody B's were going to get shoved out of their seats. I guess it's all perspective from where you're sitting. Getting the popcorn ready...

Plot twist, will some of the junior guys from the last bid, get pushed off widebody FO to 717A...

150 new 88A's in ATL? My guess is it goes as junior as '16 hires. Curious to see how junior the 777 & 7ER goes in LAX. Last bid had A's in the ~7400 range.

I wonder how many really junior 717As get displaced back to being an FO when a bunch of 88 guys move over.

Simms41 05-08-2017 05:24 AM

So if displaced, do they award the training assignments to AEs, then displacement awards into the category, before kicking you off the category? How does that work? Sorry if it's already been answered!

What's causing all the new ATL captains? Increased block hours from another base?

My guess would be the closure of 88 CVG & NYC categories.
