So are they calling people who bid captain of other jets who perhaps didn't get what they wanted? I think I'm borderline for the 717 and I've got the hours. No M88 anywhere in my bid, no phone call.

If you know you met the FAR minimums at the time the AE bidding closed, you won't get a call so you have to wait for the results to be published.

no, they are calling people to see if they meet the upgrade requirements, it has absolutely nothing to do with what you bid. If you have over 1k at delta you obviously wont get a call. They also go off the hours form you fill out in indoc. If you bid NYC capt on the 717 you will be awarded it this bid at your seniority. A june 2016 hire got a phone call about it....

I think its a paradigm shift (pardon the cliche). For well over a decade there was absolutely no question that guys being awarded a Captain seat had the minimum required hours. No need to check anything.
Delta was burned, maybe surprised would be a better word when the A Bid results came out a while back and guys who were awarded A positions did not meet the minimums. From what I heard those guys were pay protected.
So now before being awarded a bid the company is checking first to avoid having to pay protect guys. No doubt DAL will flex its IT prowess and in a decade or two we will have 1980s software in place that can actually check on a guys qualifications before awarding a bid.
