He didn't. From what I heard, they converted him and paid him as a captain but he continued riding shotgun for a while. They kept it quiet so more new hires didn't bid it for the pay while not actually serving as a captain.

So that would indicate they have the AE results.

So is the 500 hour policy new? Is it in the PWA? Are these guys not captains previously? I see new hires making bank if that's the precedent.

I was born at precisely the wrong time. I'm jealous. But lazy too. (in my advanced years)

He didn't. Didn't even get called by CR. Haven't found where it's a requirement to have the hours at time of award. If someone has the reference it'd be appreciated.

Nope didn't do that. He's been flying as captain for a couple months. Finished OE beginning of April I think.

Can mil guys use 500 hrs towards this 1000 hr requirement? Or is it only 1000 hrs of -121 ops?

Kinda confirmed again. 12,9xx friend just heard from CR about NYC 717A. Didn't have the hours.

It exists. It was after that last award in one of the hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or one of those types of updates.

Gotcha. Pretty sure those are all in the trash - I'll head to deltanet to explore after a beer or two. Thanks!

Perhaps you are talking about the FOM provision that prohibits a newbie from doing the short upgrade course for First Time Captains with less than three years service at Delta or 1,000 hours at Delta? I believe that also buys you an extended OE footprint (on the positive side, that pilot should become very proficient at shadow bidding &#128513.
