idk what time perspective you have for events like these? But all else being equal, this result should illustrate there are rewards for pilots willing to put in the bid. Regardless of extenuating circumstances.

on the downside...what you bid/awarded isn't to your liking. so what? in a relatively short while there will be another opportunity.

If you didn't get what you want because of time gates? don't sit on reserve and not fly....get the time and when the next bid comes around....swing for the fence.

The opportunity will be there. And a large portion of the awardees in this bid will be locked....so mo'better for your chances.

good luck. these are the best of times.

Having a hard time reconciling my math...

In my category, 23 people senior to me bid out and 4 senior bid in (net of +19). 10 people junior to me bid out but 12 people junior bid in (net of +2). Did I move up 19 spots? 17 spots? 2 spots? Does that mean the category shrank? What do some of you say who have been around the block longer than I? Cause I'm a little confused here...

Let's say there's a Fall AE. Does everyone have to convert from the May AE (including MD's) before anyone converts from an upcoming AE? That's over a year out.

I'll take a swing:
Currently you are x out of y.
New: x-23+4=x-19
y-23-10+4+12=y-17

You are now 19 seats more senior in a category 17 seats smaller.

You are correct that you moved up 19 spots. And it looks like they let in more guys below you than they let leave. So, again, this is good. Your category grew by 2 more spots.

For the sake of numbers, lets say there were 100 pilots in your category prior to this bid and you were bidding 75. That would put you at 75% in the category. Now, applying the numbers you provided to my example you will be bidding 56 out of 102 pilots. That's 54.9% in the category. That's a nice big jump. Enjoy!

.
No.
.
The two AEs would be completely independent, each with their own conversion window. This latest one has a 12-month conversion window which the Company can only do once each year, so by definition, the next one will have the typical narrow conversion window.

No.
Each AE is separate.
They have to convert in seniority order only for the same AE.

It is entirely possible for someone on a subsequent AE to get converted either ahead or behind someone from a previous AE.
