That's a good point Qball - I'd forgotten about UAL and WAL's 3 man guppy crews. Lufthansa was the launch customer, and I don't recall if they were 3 man also. Delta launched the DC-9 as a 2 man A/C - much to the consternation of ALPA at the time...

Anyone know approximate dates for the "C" to show up and fly pax at DAL this year???

I don't think anyone has a delivery date for the first ship yet, so a date for the first revenue flight is a ways off.

They certainly could have found things for him to do. A friend was a UA 737 “wrench”; absolutely noth8ng to do.

We got an email this week stating a bid would be out the first week of March with the first CSeries vacancies. The company said it would need 5 months to get the catagory “stood up” from the first bid to first revenue flight. So I’m guessing, based on my powers of deduction, that the first revenue flight will occur in late July, or more likely, the first week or two in August.

If it's the same seat at the 88 then it's the most comfortable jumpseat behind a widebody or 320. Easy money if you ask me.
