I remember 88 CQ being shown how to use the new cockpit displays that were about to be installed.

I thought these plans for upgrading the flightdeck are just used as bargaining chips against Boeing and Airbus. None have ever been seriously perused, with the possible exception of the 88's and im quessing that the way the contract unraveled into a messy lawsuit, Delta will be very cautious before going down that road again.

The question is, with the plant to build them still not yet having broken ground, can Airbus deliver them at the speed necessary for Delta (and Moxy!).

Oh man, I remember that rumor when I was in Orlando.

They build 60 737’s a month. You are talking about needing to build maybe 5 A220’s a month.

IIRC, first Alabama A220 won’t come until 2H2020. Construction is underway as an addition to the existing plant (I think HPM is the vendor). Not sure if they plan to use floor space from the existing A320 line in the interim.

As a data point, they broke ground on the A320 plant in 2013, first plane was 2016. Between then and now over 100 have been built from that factory.

JG on SkyHub said we added 15 A220 options so the 15 firm that were added a few days ago are additional to the original 75/50 order.

When asked about the A-220, Ed just stated the FAA certificate process would have to get back on track within next week or entry into service would be delayed.

Looks like there'll be plenty of LGA-BOS and LGA-DFW white and green slips on various fleets next month...
