I seriously doubt that, given that we now have a very lucrative MRO contract as part of the A321NEO order to support the GTF and we are spending millions to set up said MRO facilities at the TOC.

Many new generation engines have teething issues like this. The PW2000 series on the 757 comes to mind, the JT9 on the 747, and the RB211 on the L1011.

Pratt will sort it out and it will be a stellar engine, as were the examples above.

I hope you’re right. I’m sure you are. We would never be sinking all that money into an MRO facility if our maintenance people had any long term concerns over the engines viability.

Makes sense. Grab a plane that killed 346 in 5 months and is currently not in service vs a plane with 0 fatalities.

But the problem on the 1500 is not the same as 1100, the 1500's problem almost got every jet with the engine grounded recently and does get its overhaul interval slashed

Looks like an AD for an N1 restriction to 94% above FL290. Any additional info from the delta CSeries guys?

We already have derated engines and never get above that for full power takeoffs if I remember correctly. Our reduced thrust takeoffs are so low sometimes I wonder if the autothrottles are going to catch at 60°. Sometimes we are as low as 75% N1. Usually CLB at altitude is 91%

Where's Puddy???

Looks like our JV partner has publicly shown interest in their desire for a hypothetical A220-500.
