Global Entry

Moving to the 320 in a bit, and I've heard GE is highly recommended.
How much lead turn should I give it to apply, process, etc...?
Thanks

The interview appointment is the only problem. (Anywhere from drop in to one week, depending on location.) The rest is pretty quick for Gob'mint work. Best deal ever. No more pulling out your bath-tme rubber duckey.

Wear your uniform to the interview: I was expedited and it the whole thing felt like a mere formality.

The only real bottleneck in the process is getting the interview. The application itself is pretty straightforward and doesn't take too long to submit.

You can sort of "shop" around to see when different locations have interviews available. Some are booked out pretty far and other less busy locations may have slots open next week. I was based in ANC and did mine there prior to a trip. The schedule was pretty much wide open, but my home airport was backed up for weeks.

I use Mobile Pass app(it's free) and often beat my Captain with GE to the exit. YMMV

Isn't the difference in the crew line going away waldo?

NoDeskJob 08-15-2017 07:48 AM

Thanks all

Not sure, if it becomes painful I'll fork over the $$ and get GE.

Crew line is going away in Atlanta. Mobile pass will still work but you have to get in line with all the other mobile pass folks. I'm doing Havana in a few days, I'll post back on the no crew line experience.

It took me 5 months to get an appointment in Denver. I wore a tee shirt and jeans. The "interview" is simply a couple of comments about how to use the system.
