Guys,

You are spinning your wheels for no reason. CR will post AEs as needed to cover retirements, block hours, and put new hires in seats.

6 per year or 4 per year - neither will provide more positions then CR thinks we will need to put butts in seats.

4 per year would be fine, I just don't like seeing 6+ months between bids.

There needs to be a better system for straight base transfers though.

BTW - you see your vacation award yet?!

I’ll bet I can hold DFW 767 Captain on this bid. I don’t know of anyone bidding that base anymore.

Sorry guys, too soon?

For several of those years the displacements nearly equaled the advancements on AEs, but I guess technically they were still AEs.

I would just like to have a requirement that they actually fill all the positions that they post on an AE. Force them to plan instead of just spitballing and throwing out something to which there is no requirement to follow. If they had to actually do what they predict, and fill up to a forecast staffing amount, that in turn would most likely produce more regular AE's.

It’s very unusual for them not to fill all positions with the exception of new hire slots. Happens but not often. As a option they could cancel the bid and repost but I suspect that would cause more angst.
They must contractually fill all categories to a minimum staffing. I only recall once in recent history where they fell below that for 1 month. The pilots in that category received a nice bonus as compensation.

Have you been watching the same AE's as I have for the past few years? They have often posted openings and then not filled them and specifically numerous times in MSP. Now, the pilots asked many questions which has led the company now to just not post openings in MSP.

I think I read somewhere that the new 330 Neos coming will have the same flight deck as the 350. It would be great to have a common fleet type (that paid 350 rates) but then you have the classic flight deck of the classic 330s. I wonder if there is a retrofit available to change the flight deck of the current 330 to the Neo flight deck. If there was one big 330/350 category the trips would be really good.
If this is not possible to do what will they do with the different flight decks of the two 330s
