I don't think you're getting the hypothetical. We aren't shouting down Black Lives Matter. Not suggesting anyone should.
But the students Delta transported for free were shouting down the NRA.
If you stopped to think about it for a second, you might understand how that could be offensive to someone that supported the NRA and the second amendment. Maybe in a similar way that the NRA opponents were offended that Delta offered the NRA discount to begin with.
I imagine you probably don't think those people need thicker skin.

Delta is helping victims of a tragedy. We're talking about teenagers that have witnessed more horror in their short lives than most ever will.
Agree or disagree with their motives, but attacking Delta for doing this is just blind politics.
Democrats and Republicans are equally good and bad people. It's the "I'm right, you're wrong" mentality that makes this so heated.
How about everyone just chill out and try to love one another.
I too am proud to work for Delta.

Easy and cheap publicity is what is best for business. Those kids will be more inclined to fly DL in the future. I don't think anyone at Delta wakes up in the morning actually thinking "how can we be liberal today?"

That's because it happens naturally, without having to think...

Oh please! They are doing nothing of the sort. They are HELPING THEMSELVES to some free publicity that is intended to improve their image. They, along with the rest of the liberal media machine are using these victims as pawns for their own benefit.
The fact that its touted in a press release is proof. If their intentions were really as altruistic as they would have you believe, they would not be publicizing the action in such a manner. An "anonymous" donation would have been equally effective in helping family members afford the trip.
Another previous post posed the question "is it helping the bottom line?" Well, perhaps yes. But is taking advantage of a tragedy to help your bottom line really the honorable thing to do? I think not.

This is pretty simple.
At some point, Delta got heat for giving a discount to the NRA. They decided to take the position that it would end the discount and ensure Delta was not tied in any way to the NRA, which has become a partisan issue.
That's a defendable position, if that is really the intention of the airline. To be neutral, to be less offensive in order to sell more airline seats.
But, the decision to support the protestors is puzzling. It's great to support people in a time of grief or need, but just like the NRA has been or has become a political issue - the March for our Lives is political.
To green light the one and distance yourself from the other, looks like choosing a side or taking a stand.
You may admire people, for example, in Hollywood, for expressing their views and taking a stand. But, about half the country would prefer if they'd be less divisive or at least make an attempt at equal opportunity criticism.
From my vantage, I'm not seeing enlightenment that I just don't understand yet. Looks more like ideological bigotry.
Over 40 million people use to watch the Oscars. This year 26 million tuned in.
You can debate how much of that loss has anything to do with divisive social issues, but if you're in the business of flying diverse people around in exchange for their hard earned money - why would it make sense to find out?
I suggest real neutrality and more money making.
