I've quit having political discussions with "conservatives" because when you disagree with them they get angry and figure it's their duty to remove you from the gene pool.

I don't want to dominate the gene pool, but I would like to swim in it occasionally. I'm also beginning to get the feeling that liberals are becoming more vocal about to trying to find a way to drown me in it.

Delta is helping victims of a tragedy. We're talking about teenagers that have witnessed more horror in their short lives than most ever will.
Agree or disagree with their motives, but attacking Delta for doing this is just blind politics.
Democrats and Republicans are equally good and bad people. It's the "I'm right, you're wrong" mentality that makes this so heated.
How about everyone just chill out and try to love one another.

Yeesh, "Libtard"? Certainly not a good way to foment a constructive discussion. Starting a thread on APC with "libtard" in the title exemplifies a lot of the problems we have in the country right now. I own firearms, I probably disagree with the kids on some points, but I'm certainly proud of them, and Delta for giving them the chance to voice their opinion on where they want their country to go.
Also, you can be pro 2nd amendment, like me, and against the NRA. The organization used to be about responsible gun ownership and hunter safety. They've become frighteningly divisive, and this video looks just like an ISIS recruitment ad.

No. I would support them sending students of a tragedy to a pro second amendment rally (if that's what they wanted) that is not associated with the NRA. They have become extreme in their views. Let's not forget that this donation was targeted at the students, faculty and families ONLY of the shooting tragedy. It wasn't open to everyone.
And by the way, I would not be offended if Delta partnered with Chick-Fil-A nor did I or have I stopped buying food from them, even though I staunchly disagree with their views on gay marriage.

Whoa. You're offended that someone disagrees with you? Sounds like you need thicker skin. And why are we shouting down black lives matter? Why can't I support the police yet condemn clear biases in the criminal justice system? Why can't I thank a soldier and also support Muslim immigration or condemn the war on terror.
By the way, I do donate to police and fire organizations yet I also demand accountability in policing. That is wrong with the discussion. If I say I support the March for our lives movement, I somehow hate anyone who owns a gun.

It wasn't that long ago that threads were shut down over even semi-relevant political forays into things directly involved with ME3/NAI, FAA Reauthorization, etc. And now we have not one but two threads waist deep in the gun control debate (in general, FAR beyond DL's tiny involvement in it) and foraying into abortion, BLM and who knows where else.
Cool if we have a political section. But peppered all over the place? I just don't see the value in that.
