I also doubt any secondary displacements. Since we are hiring and have a lot of retirements they can just carry some extra staffing if secondary displacements we're even an issue.

These guys can't displace to the left seat and plenty of right seat movement. Even if they could displace to the left seat when was the last NB AE?

I predict zero secondary displacements, but I have been wrong before. In any case we will know soon enough.

They don’t have to post any secondary displacements. Bids are not singular events. If they know there is planned growth in a future bid they can and will carry a surplus.
OE and Consolidation requirements makes converting guys early problematic.

Literally every 88A dead man walking I’ve talked to had 7ER on their MD. What kind of throughput is that on the ER per month if training is already allegedly backed up until Aug?

I think that is the reason they are delaying the release. There will be few if any secondaries, but I don’t know if they considered the potential affect of everone displacing to a fleet that is so behind in training. Looks like the 88 will be overstaffed through November now. Well played CR, well played.

Perhaps it would’ve been wiser to have stuck with the MSP downsize they originally announced to guage things rather than the last minute direction change to reduce ATL and have no clue what they would do? Just a thought. Or an even crazier thought would have been to open the C series on this one to allow them to displace to that instead of the ER.

I don’t think those lower 50 88A’s will be able to hold the C series so it probably didn’t matter

The shame of it is that there are only 106 md88's left. Considering there are as many as 300 more A-321's plus the 80 ish +/- C series jets, I imagine many out the displaced A's would have had something available to them in short order. But the training department is going to end up being the shock absorber for displacements that without seat lock requirements, will possibly end up getting some other A position in the next few AE's. Seems like a lot of thrash to me.

That logic makes sense. The C series pays more than the 717 and none of the bottom 50 88As can hold that.

How senior do you think it will go?

-NYC based
-Lower paying
-Unknown trips

Yeah, sign me up for that.

More senior than the B717? CS100 pays more....

I would expect it to be senior to the 717 by the second or third AE. The initial bid should be junior due to Delta's stellar track record rolling out new airplanes. There are more than a few QOL potholes for the initial cadre in NYC.

Yeah, $3/hour more than the 717. That’s not enough to make me bite if I don’t know what the trips are like, but that’s just me. YMMV
