This part in section 11 is however specific and since they made a point of including it in the contract I think what you post is correct or they would have also posted something similar in the MD section. You could certainly make the case for your interpretation using this.

Exception: There is no requirement to post a vacancy that is filled by a pilot who is reinstated to such position within 180 days or six bid periods of his MD.
Fair enough....and that exception you reference could/will apply if the 9 DTW350B MDs bid back, regardless of others seniority, when the company posts an AE to the 350 to fill the other 35 proposed vacancies (see 22.F.12). I honestly think CR was a bit short-sighted on this one by not posting at least, say 10-15 DTW350B vacancies.

This is what they put in writing in FEB. I hope they stick with it.

AE frequency will increase in 2018. We had four AEs in 2017; I expect 5 or 6 this year.

If this past year has been any lesson, bid what you want on the next MOAB or be prepared to wait another year. Some exceptions of course...

i agree. I think the MOABs stagnate movement and things go much more senior with the bids outside of the MOABs. I much preferred the every few months AEs we did before the MOAB last year.

Because they also think training a guy with 3 months left to retirement is a good idea. At least they're consistent.

I think the 3 months left to retirement was contractual.

Interesting to senior folks. Training bypass to 11-8-2019 retirement date. First I've seen that exceeded a year. Till now I haven't noticed a bypass over 9 months. OFG

I share your frustration, on 16apr AE, however, there is a dude bypassed with 19 months to retirement.

Keep in mind they can only bypass you if your category remains. That is why there were no bypasses for the 747 guys. There was no category to remain in.
