Regular, reserve, up or down, what?
Down. Up. Wait. It's in pwa section 22 under definitions.

Regular. Check it out. “Average line value” (ALV) means a number of hours established by the Company that is the projected average of all regular line values, for a position, for a bid period. That number of hours
is between 72 and 84 (inclusive) for all narrowbody and 7ER positions, and between 71 and 85 (inclusive) for the 744, 777, 330, 350, and 765.

“Targeted line value” (TLV) means a 12-bid period rolling average of the ALV for a position that will be between 75 and 80 hours (inclusive).

“Position” means the combination of a pilot’s aircraft type, status, and classification as domestic or international.

Also use alpa's site to look at tlv. Go to MEC home page, then select “Committees,” “Contract Administration,” and “Bid
Monitor.”

The company won’t offer vacation move up during summer months. They built horrible lines and disregarded RCC input for better lines all while claiming they didn’t have the staff to accommodate either request, and yet they offered SLI. The RCC did not agree and but didn’t matter.
It just so happens that our contract (signed by both parties) states that BOTH parties must agree before SLIs are offered.
I could careless a guy that makes $306k/year will now only make $300k. Are you really serious?
Grow a pair. Delta is violating the contract willfully and you care about a “maybe” $6k loss out of over $300k?
I would love nothing more than a great relantionship between our work force and our management, but they are starting to set a pattern of contract violation and dubious interpretation. Our MEC is simply saying they must follow the PWA.

The overmanning is temporary. By next summer barring a further run up in fuel prices it’s over. Flying less is not a bad thing. In fact are caps are to high now.

Except for the “Grow a pair” and “Are you serious” comments, this is a great explanation.

You guys are funny. You are spring loaded to jump to conclusions. I am in favor of pulling down the SIL"s. Since the whole thread up untill my post was an unmitigated love fest, I was only showing that there could be a downside.(depending on your point of view)
Hearing only one side of a story is usually never a good thing. Once you hear both sides, and make a decision, can it truly be called an "informed decision".

I do find the comments about a possible $6000 less pay check over the year while they get manning back in alignment to be characterized as insignificant as puzzling. That would pay my ALPA dues for the year. Why does anyone complain about ALPA dues when the word has been handed down on the forum that that amount of money is insignificant. Look at the % of PAC supporters and the average donation an it quickly becomes apparent that most people view that amount of money differently than the way in which it was characterized here. I can look at statistics and state unequivocally that I am a huuuge supporter of ALPA and not a management schill a the forum is wont to do when the"other side" is presented.

In my world I should have introduced my thoughts and the a logical and spirited discussion should ensure instead of flippant exchanges get are are nothing more than "shoot the messenger".....that just smacks of partisan politics

You're the funny one and the hubris here is amazing. Thank my lucky stars you're here to explain to us so we can make an "informed decision".

Nobody said $6k is insignificant. The concept that eludes you is $6k to a guy who makes $300k is insignificant when weighed against the flagrant contract violations the company feels entitled to impose.

Perhaps if you actually used a little logic and lost the condescending tone, people would respond to you in-kind. But keep thinking you're the poor victimized messenger, it's cute.
