Objectively look at what the situation is. Do you want to negotiate against an outsider who hates pilots, a bonehead who doesn’t understand our contract, or somebody who likes pilots and has actually advocated for them for decades? Just because he’s on their side now doesn’t mean they’ve activated darkmode on a robot. I’ll judge on the next few months, not jumping to conclusions yet. They can still pay him a salary AND we can come to an agreement that is good. This might increase the pace of negotiations.

I love the nostalgic admiration. Moak would be proud.

He is negotiating for the company's interests AS A COMPANY AGENT. What are you trying to say here?

Maybe the black cloak wearing guy says, “That’ll never pass the memory rat, it’s a waste to propose” before they propose. Or maybe brings a sense of why the union proposed something to the company. Or maybe he’s just there to inflict maximum pain while laughing his way to the bank.

Moak has nothing to do with what’s in front of us.
Really?

I’m watching, but my paranoia is a lot lower.

He was Moak’s SCOPE sales agent. The company wants something in section 1, he is tasked with getting it. He has intimate knowledge of the ALPA resources and responses.

And the status members elected Moak. So what? He worked with many other MEC chairs just fine (at a much higher capacity). If anything he has heard all the criticism of scope and what we’re upset about. Name someone else in management that can articulate our position better.

Exactly my point.
Why waste time trying to negotiate for something the pilots aren’t going to give up? This expedites the negotiation.

Maybe we’re talking past each other - I’m not giving the guy a pass, but I’m not on auto-condemn either. I’m a little more optimistic and will wait and see.

Do you really think he’s on your side?
