To answer Denny’s original question, I can say without a doubt I still have no desire to add a DC plan. Really, this is what makes a market a market. People listen to too much noise on CNBC and panic sell which seems to have apexed on Monday. Not to mention 150 hedge funds are closing up shop and liqudiating by the end of the year.

I've already lost one corporate pension (General Motors) in bankruptcy.

My Reserve pension is far from a sure thing (can't collect for 19 more years).

Why would I want to go down this path again?

Denny

Got a good link to show how they're structured now vs before?

Get something like UPS where the pilot pension is tied to management's pension (so I'm told), then I'm all ears. I'd be all for another retirement vehicle while keeping our current DC.

When most of the older pilots were hired we had no scope. Hard to sell something you don’t have!

We had a PanAm interchange, does that count?

Go onto the DALPA website. Navigate to the R&I committee page and click on "A Pilots Guide to Enhanced Retirement." Fast forward to 2:20 and it will answer your question. You can try this link too but you'll probably have to log into the Union website.

Watch the video in my last post. Starting at 2:20 is where they talk about new DB type plans.

I am not really interested in selling it. Just using it as a counter example of how selfish YOU are being.

So your response to not getting something new you want is to threaten taking something away we already have? Who is the selfish one here?
