I'd say no problem. I did LHR PHL I believe last winter and it was 8+25 en route due to winds. We had just under 500 #below max fuel weight and still had alternate fuel.
Had another flight of note last winter as well. DCA-LAX 5+24 en route. Got the AWABS for R/W 01.....Flaps 20, Full/Max power, packs off, 4 kt. HW needed. I smiled and told the F/O that we were the only jet in the world doing this route today!
Did Boeing ever screw up by not modding (new engines and/or wing) this fabulous jet. Might have made the 73 Max unnecessary and really hurt the 321 NEO.

There's no doubt the 757 is the most versatile airplane. Any chance Boeing will create a 757MAX variant? Seems like it would cost them much less then to create a 797 to fill that same gap.

Boeing sold off the 757 tooling years ago. It would cost them quite a bit to bring back the 757. Might as well start from scratch.

I flew Dakar to JFK in the 757 years ago. We needed an alternate and a redispatch point because of fuel requirements. The release called for 75K of fuel which was max capacity on this bird. The fueler came up freaking out because the aircraft wouldn’t take any more fuel, but because of the temp, the gauges were indication 74.9K. The Captain said it’d be enough and to go ahead and disconnect.
